I fell in love with the Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall when I was visiting Paris and staying in the 15th arrondissement. I can honestly say that for me, it’s as impressive as the Eiffel Tower.
A “Home” to Relax in
I’m not a shopper. But I have frequented this shopping mall numerous times. It was my rest area when it was raining outside, when I was hungry, when I needed to use the Wi-Fi or washroom, or just whenever I was around.
It was the starting point of each day’s walk around Paris and also my ‘home’ at the end of the day. Instead of rushing back to my apartment, I always took time enjoying myself in the Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall.
I would sit back in the stylish and comfy sofa in the lounge, connect to the Wi-Fi, and then just do a bit of people watching.
I eventually figured out that I am smitten by its artistic and modern architectural and interior design.
The Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall is divided into three buildings, separated by Rue Linois: Panoramic building (on the North side of Rue Linois), Magnetic and City (on the South side of Rue Linois).
A Stunning Footbridge
The Panoramic and Magnetic buildings are connected by a steel exoskeleton footbridge. The outside facade of the shopping mall is glass with a metallic mesh.
The Mall of Light
The Panoramic and Magnetic buildings have large oval atriums crowned with colorful glass canopies. These flood the buildings with light.
An Eco-Friendly Green Roof Top
The shopping mall is not only dazzling but also eco-friendly. It’s covered with a green roof top planted with native regional flowers.
Comfy Chairs in the Lounge
As I mentioned above, the waiting and reception areas in the shopping mall were furnished with fashionable and comfortable easy chairs, armchairs, coffee tables, and a sofa…
From the relaxing seating area just beside the windows you can see the other building is right across the street. On the wall above the windows a sign says “Vers Panoramic” leading you to the footbridge that connects Panoramic.
A Panoramic View from the Footbridge
When you walk on the footbridge, you will pause quite naturally and stand facing west to take in the view of the River Seine.
Watch a Movie Filmed in Paris
Panoramic also hosts the ten-screen movie theater multiplex Cinéma Gaumont Pathé.
The undulating timber ceiling in the Cinéma Gaumont Pathé Beaugrenelle has an unexpectedly warm welcoming and inviting effect caused by its simple design.
One eventful experience I would recommend would be to watch a movie that was filmed in Paris in this Cinéma Gaumont Pathé Beaugrenelle right by the River Seine. You may forget the plot or even the name of the film, but you will never forget the scenes of the River Seine and Eiffel Tower…. That’s when you realize that Paris can be and indeed is perfect.
