The Eiffel Tower from Afar – Distance Enhances Beauty

The Eiffel Tower can be viewed from different angles nearby and it can also be viewed from afar, especially in a panoramic view. Hiking up 600 stairs to the top of the Eiffel Tower is undoubtedly an amazing experience as you get so close to the Tower, but taking in the view of Paris without the Eiffel Tower in it doesn’t sound so complete. You can actually view Paris with the Eiffel Tower from afar and as the saying goes, distance breeds beauty.

From the Tour Montparnasse

The Tour Montparnasse in the 15th arrondissement is the best alternative to view Paris. You can view the city from the rooftop terrace or the panoramic semi-gourmet restaurant le Ciel de Paris.

The Tour Montparnasse opens until late evening, so you will be able to catch the stunning sunset view, golden hour view, blue hour view and night view.

From the Arc de Triomphe

The next landmark other than the Eiffel Tower that comes to your mind is more likely the Arc de Triomphe. It’s not as high as the Tour Montparnasse, but you can take in views of Paris that include the Eiffel Tower.

From Notre-Dame

Another panoramic view of Paris that includes the Eiffel Tower is from the viewing platform on top of the South tower of Notre-Dame Cathedral. There may be a queue there longer than at the Arc de Triomphe, but when you are there, it’s hard to resist the grandness of Notre-Dame, especially when its bells are ringing. The River Seine will be in this view, too.

From the Centre Pompidou

You may not know you can also view Paris with the Eiffel Tower in it from the top viewing deck of the Centre Pompidou.

From the Printemps

I came across this venue by chance. I wanted to have a rest at the Printemps and I saw the word “Panorama”, then I found myself at a rooftop terrace Déli-cieux. The whole experience was wonderful. The summer sky in Paris can be dramatic.

When you are lost in the beauty at a Paris corner, a glance up at the Eiffel Tower will constantly remind you that you are in Paris, and that it’s real that you are in Paris.

There are different kinds of artists. Some are more focused and others are more all-encompassing. I would count myself as the art-everywhere type of artist. To me, art is a way of looking at things, of applying creativity in my life. I am a frequent traveler who truly appreciates every tiny beauty of life and have traveled extensively around the world. Different cities inspire me in different ways. My passion is Paris which I have visited more than once, living as a Parisian. I have walked big streets and small alleys in Paris, and every inch of the city has given me inspiration. When I first arrived in Paris it was as though all my senses were heightened, then as I became familiar with the city I learned to see subtleties that I missed at first.

  1. Love the idea of representing Paris in its finest, but still remaining to focus on the Lady tower! 🙂
Before arriving to Paris, I was like – what is the big deal about the tower of still?? But once beside it, I was truly overwhelmed by its grandiosity and uniqueness. And seeing it from another and another point of view always surprises me like the first time 🙂 My fav Paris view remains however the one from the 6th floor of George Pompidou !

  2. Both aspects remain. When you are close to it, you can really appreciate her “lace” structure. I am sorry but I compare it oftenly with fine lingerie. Her structure being so fine and well assembled.

And when you are far, a diferent aspect is being revealed, she is like a beautiful mass who knows how to stay elegant in all occasions.

  3. You are totally right! The Eiffel Tower is even more beautiful when you look at it from afar. This amazing monument match perfectly with Paris, and when you get to have a panoramic view of the city with the Eiffel Tower as the center of your attention, you feel like every single building, bridge, street, monument, is just perfect; you wouldn’t change anything.
I love the pictures you posted. I love the way the day turns into night in Paris, especially when you see it from the Tour Montparnasse. The view is magic; it is unreal; it’s like taken from a fairy tale; it is like painted by an artist. In deed it is breathtaking.

  4. No matter where you turn you can never escape that tall and gorgeous beauty. The Eiffel Tower is I believe the very heart of Paris. As I took in the holy view of the luminous city from the Montparnasse tower it looked almost surreal to be at that altitude and still face the Eiffel Tower looking prouder than ever. It is really wonderful that something as unique as the Eiffel Tower can never pass by unseen or unnoticed.
Thank you for enhancing the beauty!
